Teaching Personnel is working closely with a welcoming and well-supported SEN primary school in Wigan, currently seeking a caring and committed Primary SEN Teacher to join their team. The school caters to pupils aged 4–11 with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about making learning accessible, meaningful, and fun for every child—no matter their needs or starting point.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver creative, differentiated lessons to small groups or 1:1, tailored to pupils’ EHCPs
  • Use visuals, sensory tools, and interactive approaches to support engagement
  • Foster a calm, nurturing environment that encourages trust and confidence
  • Collaborate with TAs, therapists, and external professionals to support the whole child
  • Support pupils in developing life skills, emotional regulation, and communication
  • Track pupil progress and contribute to reviews and next steps

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) – essential
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEN, ideally in a primary or specialist setting
  • Understanding of early childhood development and adapted teaching strategies
  • Patience, creativity, and a strong commitment to inclusion
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

Successful applicants will be subject to standard vetting checks, including two school / education-based references & a DBS.

Applicants must be able to provide an Overseas Police Check if applicant has been outside the UK for more than 6 months in the past 5 years.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
