Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate SEN Teacher to join a specialist education setting supporting children aged 5–11, although learners may be secondary-aged but working at primary levels. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, working 8.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. Please note that end times may vary on some weekdays.

Due to the immediate need, this vacancy may close early once filled.

You will be working within a highly supportive pupil referral environment that is recognised for its strong pastoral ethos and commitment to re-engaging learners.

Pupils present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, which may include: Emotional regulation and behavioural challenges, Anxiety and difficulties engaging with learning, Impact of trauma or adverse experiences and Gaps in learning requiring primary-style teaching and interventions

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver general teaching and targeted interventions and adapt lessons.

  • Create a safe, engaging and structured classroom environment

  • Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and re-engagement with learning

 

Requirements

  • Primary-trained teacher (essential due to learning levels)

  • Minimum 6 months childcare experience, especially supporting children with SEN needs

  • Experience with SEMH or alternative provision is highly desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
