SEN Teacher – Portsmouth

Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 (Paid to Scale)

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a supportive educational setting in Portsmouth. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible, offering a competitive salary paid in line with the teacher pay scale.

The Role:

  • Deliver engaging and tailored lessons to pupils with Special Educational Needs

  • Plan, assess and adapt learning to meet individual student needs

  • Work collaboratively with support staff, parents, and external professionals

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

  • Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification

  • Have experience working with children with SEN (e.g. ASD, SEMH, MLD, SLD)

  • Be patient, resilient, and passionate about inclusive education

  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills

Safeguarding Requirements:

  • Must have an Enhanced Child-Only DBS registered on the Update Service or

  • Be willing to apply for a new Enhanced DBS through Teaching Personnel
