Job description

SEN Teacher – Primary, Norwich (Immediate Start)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join a specialist primary provision immediately. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to supporting pupils with additional needs in a nurturing and structured environment.

Role Overview

You will be teaching within small specialist classes supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs, delivering tailored learning experiences that meet individual needs and developmental stages.

Class Information

Year 2 Class

  • Small class of 6 boys

  • Pupils are verbal and follow an EYFS-based curriculum

  • All pupils are currently working below age-related expectations

  • Needs are considered lower level, though some pupils require support with personal care

Year 3 Class – Maternity Cover 

  • Class of 7 boys and 1 girl

  • Pupils follow a semi-formal provision curriculum

  • Needs are more complex, with the primary focus on communication and interaction

  • Some personal care support will be required

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience working with SEN pupils in a primary setting

  • A valid UK driving licence (essential)

  • An Enhanced Child Only DBS registered on the Update Service – this is required to allow fast-track clearance

  • A compassionate and adaptable teaching approach

What We’re Looking For

  • A teacher who is patient, proactive, and nurturing

  • Strong understanding of differentiated learning and SEN strategies

  • Ability to support pupils with communication needs and developmental delays

  • Comfortable supporting with personal care where required

Start Date

Immediate start available, with the Year 3 maternity cover commencing 14th April.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
