Job Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher
Location: Lancaster
Contract Type: Full-time
Start Date: 5th January 2026

The Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The successful candidate will support students across Key Stages 1 and 2, with the flexibility to work in EYFS or secondary settings where needed.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver and adapt lessons to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEN

  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress, setting achievable targets

  • Develop and implement personalised learning plans and interventions

  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, parents and external specialists to support pupils’ learning and wellbeing

  • Promote independence, confidence and self-esteem in all students

  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures and maintain a safe learning environment

  • Contribute to the wider school community and participate in professional development

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in SEN education

  • Strong understanding of different SEND needs, including ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and SEMH

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • Ability to deliver interventions 1:1 and in small groups

  • Passionate about supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing

  • Experience in collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
