SEMH / ASD Teacher

- Skelmersdale Area
- Full-Time / Long-Term / Temp-to-Perm Opportunities

We are currently seeking a committed and experienced Qualified Teacher (QTS) to join specialist schools in the Skelmersdale area, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This is a highly rewarding role for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and making a lasting difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.


The Role:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Teaching small classes of pupils with SEMH and ASD, adapting approaches to suit each learner
  • Managing challenging behaviour using positive and consistent strategies
  • Supporting students’ emotional development, resilience and social skills
  • Working collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs and external professionals
  • Creating a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Experience working within SEMH, ASD or SEN settings
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, resilient approach
  • Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Flexible, proactive and committed to supporting individual pupil progress

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
