Job description

SEN Teacher – Alternative Provision (SEMH)
Full-time | 9:00am–3:30pm | Based in Buntingford (Hertfordshire)

Do you thrive working with young people who need a different approach to education?

We are an alternative provision supporting pupils with SEMH needs, looking for a committed SEN Teacher to deliver functional skills, life skills and strong pastoral support in a small, supportive setting. QTS is not essential – experience, resilience and the ability to build positive relationships matter most.

The role:

  • Teach functional skills and life skills in small groups

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs to re-engage with learning

  • Provide consistent behaviour and emotional support

  • Work closely with a supportive, experienced team

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience with SEMH, SEND or alternative provision

  • Is calm, adaptable and relationship-focused

  • Wants to make a real difference every day

  • Has experience in alternative provision, PRU, or special education (desirable)

  • Is confident managing behaviour positively and consistently.

  • Can deliver practical, engaging and differentiated learning.

  • Has strong communication and teamwork skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
