If so, this exciting opportunity could be for you. We at Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a confident Teaching Assistant to work within a friendly secondary schools based in Barnsley. The successful candidate will be working with a range of students, supporting their needs alongside class teachers to ensure a positive learning environment.
No direct experience is necessary. However this role is perfectly suited to those with experience working in support work. We are just looking for candidates who are enthusiastic about education as well as patient and understanding with Special Educational Needs or SEHM issues. Moving and Handling training would also be beneficial.
Your responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant include but aren’t limited to:
- Managing and supporting children with moderate to severe learning difficulties
- Ensuring pupils stay on task by managing disruptive behaviour.
- Providing support to children on a 1:1 basis or in a group setting.
- Safeguarding children.
- Assisting the teacher in planning engaging lessons for the class in line with school policies
- Liaising with the class teacher and other support staff to provide the best support.
All applicants will be required to have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service and at least two references from former employers.
Wage – £80-£90 per day

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
