About the Role
Teaching Personnel Liverpool is recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work full-time in a number of mainstream secondary schools across Liverpool from September 2026.
These roles are ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and want to make a meaningful difference in education. Many of the positions are offered on a temporary basis initially, with strong potential to transition into permanent contracts within schools.
You will work closely with teaching staff to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, including those with additional learning needs such as SEN (Special Educational Needs) or SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs).
Key Responsibilities
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a critical role in helping students access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing in-class support to students across a range of subjects
- Working one-to-one or in small groups with pupils who require additional support
- Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management
- Supporting students with SEN, including ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, and SEMH needs
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in line with school policies
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
- Supporting pupils’ social and emotional development
About You
We are looking for reliable, compassionate individuals who are committed to supporting young people in education.
You should have:
- Experience working with young people or in an educational, care, or youth setting
- A strong interest in education, SEN, or pastoral support
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- A proactive and team-focused attitude
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
- Experience supporting students with additional needs or behavioural challenges
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE, Level 2/3 TA, or degree in education/psychology)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
