Role: SEN resource base Teaching assistant 

Sector: Mainstream primary education working in SEN department

Key experience : supporting children with autism and other SEN

Pay : £89.38 - 110 a day (+SEN allowance) (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Job description: Teaching Personnel are working closely with a mainstream primary school providing SEN and inclusion teaching assistants to support in their SEN resource base classes. This role will include working closely, usually on a 1:1 basis, supporting those with ASD, ADHD and additional needs in saller settings than mainstream classrooms. Although the primary schools are mainstream, the SEN resources bases function as mini SEN schools, supporting the children with more complex needs.

The ideal candidate:

- has experience supporting children with complex needs; ideally SEN school, Resouce base or direct 1-1 school based experience.

- work effectively as part of a team within the classroom, ensuring the children are looked after and learning from the content delivered

-understand the needs of those with ASD, ncluding children who are non verbal and therefore use communication techniques such as PECs

-commitment to the building and maintaining positive relationships

-a friendly positive approach in the classroom

-be caring, patient and understanding whilst pro-active and inspirational

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
