Teaching Personnel is seeking experienced and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistants to work in a variety of supportive and welcoming schools across the Reading area. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and helping them achieve their full potential both academically and socially.
We are looking for candidates with proven experience working with children who have additional needs and who are confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, or within the classroom environment.
The Role
As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language needs, and SEMH.
- Deliver tailored interventions and learning activities in line with individual support plans.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support pupil progress.
- Promote positive behaviour management strategies.
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
- Build strong relationships with pupils to encourage confidence, engagement, and independence.
The Ideal Candidate
To be considered for this role, you must have:
✅ Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, SEN LSA, Learning Support Assistant, or in a similar support role.
✅ Experience supporting children with additional needs within a school, care, or specialist setting.
✅ Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
✅ A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach.
✅ The ability to adapt to the individual needs of pupils.
✅ An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
