SEN Learning Support Assistant – Primary School
Location: Reading
Start Date: September 2026
Pay: Competitive daily rate
Contract: Full-time / Part-time opportunities available

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a SEN Learning Support Assistant to work within welcoming and supportive primary schools in Reading for a September 2026 start.

The Role:

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional learning needs
  • Support children with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social/emotional needs
  • Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive learning environment
  • Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence
  • Help manage behaviour positively and effectively

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable
  • A caring, patient, and resilient attitude
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant qualifications or transferable experience are advantageous
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting children’s development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
