SEN Learning Support Assistant – Camberley

Location: Camberley, Surrey
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Hours: Full-time
Start Date: Immediate

We’re looking for caring, reliable and enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistants to join welcoming schools in Camberley.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with children and wants to make a real difference to pupils who need additional support to access learning and develop their confidence.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers and the wider school team to provide personalised support to pupils with a range of additional needs.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group learning support
  • Helping pupils engage with lessons and classroom activities
  • Supporting children with autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication and learning needs
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills
  • Adapting learning activities to suit individual needs
  • Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and other support professionals
  • Monitoring pupils' progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in supporting children or young people with SEN, or has strong transferable experience
  • Patient, empathetic and approachable
  • Confident supporting pupils with different learning and behavioural needs
  • A strong communicator who works well as part of a team
  • Calm and consistent when dealing with challenging situations
  • Passionate about helping every child reach their potential

A relevant qualification in SEN, education, childcare, psychology or supporting teaching and learning is desirable, although relevant experience and the right attitude are equally important.
