Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant
Location: Birmingham
Salary: DOE
Contract Type: Full time

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of personalised learning programmes
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support in and out of the classroom
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and social development
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCO
  • Support with behaviour management strategies where required
  • Assist with personal care needs if necessary

About You

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred but not essential)
  • A patient, empathetic, and positive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to adapt to the individual needs of students
  • A genuine passion for supporting inclusive education

Qualifications & Requirements

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare (desirable)
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
