SEN KS3 Teacher & Horticulture Lead – Part-Time (2.5–3 Days per Week)

A specialist secondary setting for students aged 11–16 is seeking a dedicated SEN KS3 Teacher & Horticulture Lead to join its team on a part-time, permanent basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including SEMH, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and anxiety-related challenges, within a supportive and nurturing environment.

Outdoor learning plays an important role in the curriculum, making this an ideal opportunity for a teacher who enjoys delivering practical, hands-on learning experiences.
As part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of each learner. You will create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, monitor student progress, contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews, and work closely with families and colleagues to support every student's development and wellbeing.
Alongside your classroom responsibilities, you will lead horticulture and outdoor learning activities, encouraging students to build practical skills, confidence, teamwork, and a love of learning beyond the traditional classroom.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs.
- A passion for inclusive education and supporting students with a range of additional needs.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs.
Desirable experience includes:
- A postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs.
- Experience delivering Forest School, horticulture, or other outdoor education programmes.
- Knowledge of supporting students with SEMH, ASC, ADHD, and associated learning needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
