Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN English Teacher to join our specialist school in Pilning, supporting children and young people with autism. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a nurturing, supportive environment.

The Role

  • Teaching English across lower KS3 and KS4.

  • Supporting pupils with autism, adapting lessons to meet individual needs.

  • Delivering engaging and accessible lessons, including GCSE English where appropriate.

  • Planning and marking responsibilities included.

  • Covering a long-term sickness, with the position paid to scale.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience teaching English, ideally up to GCSE level.

  • Understanding of and/or experience working with pupils with autism or SEN needs.

  • Ability to inspire, motivate and differentiate learning to support every student’s progress.

Details

  • Location: Pilning.

  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm.

  • Contract: Long-term cover (sickness absence).

  • Pay: Paid to scale (MPS/UPS as applicable).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
