SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Kinson

Full-time | Starting after October Half Term | Mainstream Primary School | Kinson - BH10

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a dedicated and caring SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join one of our lovely mainstream schools in Kinson, starting after October Half Term.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or someone with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs to join a welcoming and supportive school community.

About the role

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide dedicated support to a pupil, helping them to access learning, develop their confidence and thrive within the classroom environment.

You will:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs.
  • Build a positive and trusting relationship with the child.
  • Support their learning, communication, emotional wellbeing and development.
  • Encourage independence and confidence.
  • Help the pupil engage with classroom activities and the wider school environment.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team.
  • Adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of the pupil.
  • Promote positive behaviour and create a safe, nurturing learning environment.

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Patient, nurturing and empathetic.
  • Passionate about supporting children with SEN.
  • Confident providing 1:1 support.
  • Calm, consistent and resilient.
  • A strong communicator and team player.
  • Proactive and able to build positive relationships.
  • Experienced working with children with additional needs (desirable, but not essential).

Above all, we’re looking for someone who genuinely wants to make a difference to a child’s education and wellbeing.
