1:1 Teaching Assistant – SEN School (Year 9)
Bolton | Full Time | Immediate start
Are you passionate about supporting young people and making a real difference every day? Teaching Personnel are looking for a compassionate and committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 9 pupil in a specialist SEN school in Bolton.
The student has moderate Autism (ASC) and moderate learning difficulties and benefits from consistent, patient, and understanding support. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a meaningful relationship and play a key role in a young person’s development and confidence.
What You’ll Be Doing:
In this rewarding role, you will:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
- Help the pupil access learning in a way that suits their needs
- Support communication, emotional regulation, and independence
- Adapt classroom activities alongside the teacher
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement
- Support transitions around the school and during structured activities
- Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and support teams
- Create a safe, calm, and supportive learning environment
✅ What We’re Looking For:
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (especially Autism and learning difficulties)
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
- A patient, empathetic, and reliable approach
- Strong communication skills and a nurturing mindset
- A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
