Role: Primary School | Bolton

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a friendly and inclusive primary school in the Bolton area to recruit a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is patient, empathetic and proactive, and passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs. You will be supporting children with Special Educational Needs such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Sensory Processing Difficulties and Moderate Learning Disabilities (MLD)

You will play a vital role in helping pupils feel safe, supported and confident in their learning environment.


✅ Key Responsibilities

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored, SEN-specific support to pupils
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Assist the class teacher and SENCO in implementing support plans
  • Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in learning
  • Support with personal care where required, maintaining dignity and respect
  • Record observations and feedback on pupil progress

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN (ASC, sensory needs, MLD)
  • Experience within a school or educational setting
  • A calm, patient and empathetic approach
  • A proactive attitude and flexibility to meet pupils’ needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Teaching Personnel)
