Are you a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? We are currently recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and nurturing educational setting in Thrapston (NN14) on a full-time, permanent basis.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to engage with learning, develop positive relationships, and achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Assist students in managing their emotions and behaviours positively.
- Support the delivery of tailored learning activities within and outside the classroom.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress.
- Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals to support individual learning plans.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or additional learning needs.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to remain resilient and positive in challenging situations.
- Experience within education, youth work, residential care, support work, or similar sectors is highly desirable.
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
