SEMH Teaching Assistant

If so, we are currently working with a specialist secondary school in the Tameside area to recruit an SEMH Teaching Assistant.
Permanent with an immediate start date. There is no option for part time roles.
This role focuses on supporting students with emotional and behavioural challenges aged 11-16.
The chosen candidate will understand the importance education plays in building those essential foundations needed for later in life.
This school focuses on a blended curriculum with the aim of developing essential skills including communication, team working, personal organisation and independent learning.
The ideal candidate MUST have:
- Experience of working with SEMH, including supporting students with emotional and behavioural challenges
- Availability to work 08:30-15:30, Monday-Friday
It would also be beneficial for applicants to have:
- Confidence in supporting instances of challenging behaviour
- Experience in supporting young people in a school or care environment within the UK
- A positive, nurturing and proactive attitude

The role is subject to standard vetting checks including:
- References for employment within the last two years
- Safeguarding training
- DBS on the Update Service
Due to the nature of placements, those not currently residing in the UK are unable to be put forward for this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
