This specialist provision offers tailored educational pathways for children and young people from Year 1 through to Year 11 who are unable to access mainstream education. Supporting up to 98 pupils, the school works closely with families, carers, and the wider community to provide personalised learning programmes that enable every learner to succeed.

The Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you'll become a key part of a supportive team, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning while creating a positive, structured environment where they feel safe, valued, and ready to engage.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils with a range of social, emotional, behavioural, and learning needs
- Assisting with classroom activities across literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum subjects
- Using positive behaviour strategies to de-escalate challenging situations
- Building strong, trusting relationships that encourage confidence and independence
- Helping create a calm, consistent, and nurturing learning environment
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, or similar backgrounds welcome)
- Is resilient, patient, and confident in managing challenging behaviour
- Can remain calm under pressure and respond positively to changing situations
- Is reliable, adaptable, and committed to supporting vulnerable learners
- Has excellent communication skills and enjoys working as part of a team
Driving Is Essential
A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are required, as placements may vary and occasional travel between local schools may be necessary.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
