Job Title: Teaching Assistant – SEMH Specialist School
Location: Havant and surrounding areas
Hours: Full-time, Term Time Only
Pay: £13.75 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Through Teaching Personnel
About the Role
We are seeking a committed and resilient Teaching Assistant to work within SEMH specialist school settings, supporting pupils across primary and secondary age groups. This is a full-time, term-time-only position starting ASAP, based across schools in the Havant and surrounding areas, supplied through Teaching Personnel.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils

Support tailored learning activities to meet individual needs

Assist pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management
-
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils

Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
-
Follow individual behaviour support plans and school policies
-
Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams
The Ideal Candidate

Experience working with SEMH, SEN, or challenging behaviour (desirable but not essential)

Calm, patient, and resilient approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

A genuine desire to make a positive impact

Ability to drive and travel to locations in the Havant and surrounding areas

An enhanced child-only DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
