SEMH Teaching Assistant – Full-Time – Bolton Immediate Start Available

We are currently working in partnership with a specialist SEMH provision in Bolton to recruit a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.

This setting supports pupils aged 11–16 who present with social, emotional and mental health needs. Many students may display challenging behaviour and require consistent, structured support to engage in learning. The school has a strong pastoral focus and is looking for someone who can build positive relationships and act as a stable, reliable presence for pupils.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils on both a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assisting the class teacher with delivering tailored lessons
  • Implementing behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
  • Encouraging engagement and promoting a positive learning environment
  • Supporting pupils both inside and outside of the classroom

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience working with SEMH, PRU, or challenging behaviour
  • Be confident, calm, and consistent in their approach
  • Be able to build strong relationships with students who may be disengaged from education
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
