Behaviour Support Assistant

Location: NG5, Nottingham
Pay: £90 - £105 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026

Not every child finds school easy. Some need a little extra patience, consistency and encouragement to help them feel safe, settled and ready to learn.

We're working with a welcoming primary school in the NG5 area that is looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team. This is a rewarding role for someone who can build genuine relationships with pupils, remain calm during challenging moments, and help children develop positive strategies both inside and outside the classroom.

You'll be supporting pupils who may present with social, emotional or behavioural needs, helping them to regulate emotions, engage in learning and celebrate successes – no matter how small they may seem.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils who need additional behavioural and emotional support.
• Acting as a positive role model throughout the school day.
• Supporting children in managing emotions and developing coping strategies.
• Helping create a calm, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Working closely with class teachers, SEN staff and parents to ensure pupils receive consistent support.
• Encouraging confidence, resilience and independence.

What we're looking for:

• Experience working with children or young people, either in schools or other settings.
• A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
• The ability to de-escalate situations and build trust with pupils.
• Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude.
• A genuine passion for supporting children who may face barriers to learning.
