SEMH Teacher - Full Time - September 2020 Start

Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint an outstanding, creative teacher for an Alternative Provision in Huddersfield. The school caters for pupils aged 11-19 with a range of Social Emotional Mental Health Needs. 

Teachers are responsible for teaching their specialist subject to all pupils however class sizes are roughly between 8-12 students.

Learning opportunities are appropriately structured for students throughout their school journeys to enable them to  become valued members of the wider community with positive self-worth. They are supported to reach their full potential within a gradient of independence, confidence and resilience so that they have the ability to face the challenges of adult life.  

You will be well supported by an experienced teaching team, including in class support. You will work closely with colleagues to plan effective lessons, and will benefit from a supportive senior leadership team.

The successful applicant will have previous experience of working with pupils with social emotional mental health needs and will have evidence of planning and delivering an engaging and well differentiated curriculum.

If you are an excellent classroom practitioner, love working alongside challenging students, building relationships and maintaining trust, this could be the job for you.

Applicants will possess the following:

  • A formal teaching qualification with QTS
  • Experience of working with students with SEMH and EBD
  • Evidence of delivering a well differentiated curriculum
  • Additional CPD and Training relevant to the position or be willing to undergo training
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to be part of a great team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
