We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teacher to join a supportive specialist setting in Thrapston, working with secondary-aged pupils who have a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and social, emotional and behavioural challenges.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.
The Role
As an SEMH Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Create a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment.
- Support pupils with autism, ADHD and behavioural needs to access education successfully.
- Develop positive relationships that encourage emotional regulation and personal growth.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, parents and external agencies.
- Implement behaviour support strategies and personalised learning plans.
- Monitor progress and celebrate achievements, helping students build confidence and resilience.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience working with secondary-aged pupils.
- Knowledge of SEMH needs, autism, ADHD and behaviour management strategies.
- Strong classroom management skills and a calm, patient approach.
- The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
- A genuine commitment to inclusion and improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
