Secondary Teaching Assistant
Location: Rhondda Cynon Taff
Contract: Full Time, Until the end of the academic year
Pay Rate: £89.38 per day (£13.75ph)
Start Date: Immediate / As soon as possible

Are you a qualified or unqualified Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity within a education environment?

We are looking for a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and committed school in the Rhondda Cynon Taff area. This is a full-time position until the end of the academic year. You will be supporting pupils across KS3 and KS4, helping them stay engaged, motivated, and confident in their learning.

About the Role

• Provide in-class support across a range of subjects to help pupils stay engaged with lesson content.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and the delivery of learning activities.
• Offer one-to-one or small-group support to reinforce key skills where needed.
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a calm, purposeful learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to help students reach their full potential.
• Provide occasional support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) when required.


We’re looking for someone who is:

• Patient, friendly, and confident working with secondary-aged pupils.
• Passionate about supporting young people in their learning.
• Able to adapt to different subjects and classroom settings.
• A strong team player who shows initiative.
• Experience working with young people or within an educational setting (desirable but not essential).
• Welsh-speaking skills are an advantage, but not essential.


Requirements

Teaching Personnel provides guidance and support in obtaining:
• Education Workforce Council (EWC) Registration
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
• Two years of employment references

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
