SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary Schools

Location: Wirral (Birkenhead, Wallasey, South Wirral and surrounding areas)
Pay: £95 - £110 per day
Hours: 6.5-hour school day
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: ASAP

Teaching Personnel Liverpool & Wirral are currently seeking experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to support a number of our partnership secondary schools across the Wirral. We are working closely with schools in Birkenhead, Wallasey, South Wirral, and surrounding areas to recruit dedicated support staff for full-time, long-term positions starting as soon as possible.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and committed Teaching Assistant looking to make a positive impact on the education and development of secondary-aged students with additional learning needs.

The Role

  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within mainstream secondary school settings.
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support inside and outside the classroom.
  • Assisting students with their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to deliver tailored support strategies.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and helping students engage with learning.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or SEN Support Worker.
  • Experience supporting young people with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties.
  • Confident working with secondary-aged pupils.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
