Job Title: Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: England, East Midlands, Northamptonshire

Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time

Salary: £80 - £90 Per day

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a secondary school setting
  • Assist SEN students with their individual learning needs and help them to access the curriculum
  • Work closely with teachers to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for SEN students
  • Support SEN students with social and emotional development
  • Assist in classroom management and ensuring a safe learning environment for all students

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN
  • Understanding of different learning needs and strategies to support SEN students

Education:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

Experience:

  • Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a school environment
  • Experience supporting SEN students in an educational setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of SEN support strategies and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding towards SEN students

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Additional training in supporting students with specific SEN conditions

Working Conditions:

  • Temporary position with the possibility of extension
  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday
  • Work within a supportive and inclusive school environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
