Job description

Are you a passionate and committed Secondary Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in Brent? We are working in partnership with a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in the London Borough of Brent seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate, aspiring teacher, or experienced TA who thrives in a fast paced secondary environment and is confident supporting a range of abilities.

The Role

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Support students across KS3 and KS4 in a variety of subjects
• Provide targeted intervention support in core subjects including English, Maths and Science
• Work closely with students with SEND including ASD, ADHD and SEMH needs
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management
• Deliver small group and one to one support sessions
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in line with school policies
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff

You may also be deployed within the school’s inclusion or pastoral team depending on your experience.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:
• Has previous experience working with secondary aged students
• Has experience supporting students with SEND
• Demonstrates strong behaviour management skills
• Is proactive, adaptable and confident in the classroom
• Holds a degree (desirable but not essential)
• Is considering a career in teaching or educational psychology

Graduates in Psychology, English, Maths, Science or Humanities are particularly encouraged to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
