SEN Teacher – Secondary Setting | Mitcham

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a secondary school in Mitcham to recruit a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher for a full-time role supporting students with additional needs across the secondary age range.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator with strong SEN/SEND and SEMH experience who is confident teaching a range of core subjects and committed to helping students achieve both academically and personally.
About the Role
- Teaching students within a Secondary SEN setting (KS3–KS4)
- Delivering lessons across a range of core subjects, including:
- English
- Mathematics
- Science
- Humanities (where required)
- Supporting students with a variety of needs including SEN, SEND, Autism, and SEMH
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual abilities
- Creating a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Supporting students’ emotional wellbeing, confidence, and independence
- Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral teams
- Implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning strategies
- Monitoring student progress and adapting teaching to support attainment and engagement
- Full-time role with immediate or September start available
Essential Requirements – Please Read Carefully
✔️ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
✔️ Proven experience working with SEN/SEND or SEMH students
✔️ Experience teaching within a secondary school setting
✔️ Ability to confidently teach a range of core subjects
✔️ Strong understanding of differentiation and inclusive teaching practices
✔️ Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
✔️ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
