About the Role:

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Teaching Assistant to join a Secondary School situated in the Vale of Glamorgan. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support pupils’ learning, development, and wellbeing in the classroom. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and making a positive difference in children’s lives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils individually and in small groups to access the curriculum
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management
• Encourage positive behaviour and promote a safe, inclusive learning environment
• Support pupils with additional learning needs (ALN) where appropriate and adapt lessons accordingly if needed
• Help with supervision during breaks, lunchtimes, and school activities

We are looking for someone who:

• Is patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic about working with children
• Has good communication skills, can follow guidance and use their initiative whenever needed
• Previous experience working with children (desirable but not essential)
• Is reliable, flexible, and committed to supporting pupils’ progress
• Understands safeguarding policies and has a commitment to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children
• Holds a fully enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Has the ability to adapt lessons for children with ADHD, learning difficulties, and varied learning needs.
