Manchester Secondary School Cover Supervisor

At Teaching Personnel, we are seeking Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Macclesfield, providing general classroom cover when teachers are absent. This is an excellent opportunity for confident individuals with experience working in a secondary school.

What does a Cover Supervisor do?
A Cover Supervisor manages a classroom during short-term teacher absences. You’ll deliver pre-prepared lessons, maintain a positive learning environment, and ensure students stay on task. There is no planning or marking required, making this an ideal role for those seeking flexible education jobs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise classes across a range of subjects (providing general cover)
  • Deliver lesson plans provided by the school
  • Manage behaviour and maintain classroom discipline
  • Support students with their learning and engagement

Requirements

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Experience working with young people or in schools
  • Degree or equivalent is desirable
  • Ability to adapt to different subjects and year groups
