Secondary ECT
Job description
Teaching Personnel are recruiting ambitious and dedicated Secondary Early Career Teachers (ECTs) for a range of supply teaching opportunities starting in September 2026 across Rochdale and surrounding areas. As a senior recruitment consultant working with a large network of secondary schools, I am supporting schools with high demand for flexible and long-term cover, making this an excellent opportunity for ECTs looking to gain valuable classroom experience at the beginning of their teaching career.
We are partnering with a variety of secondary schools in Rochdale, including academies and maintained schools, offering day-to-day supply, short-term bookings and long-term placements. These roles are ideal for ECTs who are keen to build confidence, develop strong behaviour management skills, and gain exposure to different school settings before securing a permanent teaching position.
As a Secondary Supply Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons within your subject specialism, support pupils across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, and adapt quickly to different classroom environments. Schools are seeking reliable and proactive teachers who can maintain continuity of learning and uphold high standards of teaching and behaviour.
The role includes:
- Delivering pre-planned lessons across KS3 and KS4 within your subject specialism
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
- Supporting pupils’ academic progress and engagement
- Adapting teaching approaches to different school environments
- Working collaboratively with department staff and senior leadership teams
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be completing ECT induction
- A degree in a relevant subject specialism
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A flexible and resilient approach to teaching
- An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply
Working with Teaching Personnel provides access to a wide range of secondary teaching jobs and supply roles across Rochdale. You will benefit from competitive daily rates, flexible working to suit your availability, and the opportunity to secure a long-term or permanent position through your placements.
