At Teaching Personnel, we're looking for motivated and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across a range of welcoming and supportive secondary schools in and around Newcastle upon Tyne. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced educators, or anyone with transferable skills who is passionate about working with young people.

The Role

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects
  • Supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment
  • Supporting students with classwork and encouraging engagement
  • Building positive relationships with students and school staff
  • Adapting confidently to different school settings and age groups

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with young people in education, coaching, mentoring, youth work, tutoring, or similar settings
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence in leading a classroom and managing behaviour effectively
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to working in different schools
  • A genuine interest in education and supporting young people's development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
