Teacher of Science - Acton

** Science Teacher – Acton – Science Teacher – East Acton – Science Teacher – Chiswick – Science Teacher – Fulham – MPS/UPS – Science Teacher – September 2020 – Maternity Cover **

Basis: Full time (Temporary - Maternity cover)

Start date: September 2020 (For the academic year 2020/2021)

Salary: Pay in line with MPS and UPS (GBP24,373 - GBP40,490)

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside one of the country’s leading independent schools for girls, located in the Borough of Ealing, London. The School’s facilities are excellent, making it an exciting place to learn and work. The bright, creative and motivated students are known to receive unrivalled academic and pastoral support and outstanding examination results are achieved every year.

Taught by a highly qualified and experienced practioners and teachers, Science at the school is thriving. The girls demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for the subject and there is a large intake of students studying Science further on up to the Sixth Form. There is a very active extra-curricular offering within the department, to which all members of the department contribute. All staff are expected to support the wider school extra-curricular programme in some way.

Teaching Personnel currently seek to appoint a passionate and well-qualified Teacher of Science to teach across the school, from 1 September 2020 to 31 August 2021, on a full time and fixed purpose (maternity cover) basis.

Applicants must be willing to support the use of teaching strategies which encourage and facilitate independent learning and self-efficacy. It is of vital importance that the post-holder can demonstrate flexibility, adaptability and the capacity to thrive in a large and busy department. The ability to teach General Science to A Level is essential.

Other requirements:

  • Teachers require relevant teaching qualifications (PGCE or QTS) specialising in a scientific discipline
  • Comfortable teaching at secondary school level (KS3 to KS5)
  • All applicants must be willing and able to travel to Acton, via public or personal transport
  • Must be available for a full time position, starting in September 2020
  • Require an enhanced child workforce DBS
  • Can produce a 6 year career history and two references from teaching roles
