The Role
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join a well-regarded secondary school in Yeovil. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about science and keen to inspire students to develop a deeper understanding of the subject.
The role will involve teaching general Science at Key Stages 3 and 4. There may also be the opportunity to teach your specialist subject at Key Stage 5, depending on your experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective Science lessons
- Teach across the Science curriculum, ensuring lessons are accessible and challenging for all learners
- Assess, monitor, and support student progress through regular feedback
- Encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and practical scientific skills
- Foster a positive and well-structured classroom environment
- Contribute to departmental planning and wider school initiatives
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Has experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting
- Has strong subject knowledge in at least one Science discipline
- Is committed to helping students achieve their full potential
- Can manage a classroom effectively and build positive relationships
- Works well within a team and demonstrates a proactive approach
