Science Teacher – Secondary School
Location: Yeovil, Somerset
Start Date: September
Contract Type: [Full-time / Part-time]
Salary: MPS/UPS


The Role

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join a well-regarded secondary school in Yeovil. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about science and keen to inspire students to develop a deeper understanding of the subject.

The role will involve teaching general Science at Key Stages 3 and 4. There may also be the opportunity to teach your specialist subject at Key Stage 5, depending on your experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective Science lessons
  • Teach across the Science curriculum, ensuring lessons are accessible and challenging for all learners
  • Assess, monitor, and support student progress through regular feedback
  • Encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and practical scientific skills
  • Foster a positive and well-structured classroom environment
  • Contribute to departmental planning and wider school initiatives

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Has experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting
  • Has strong subject knowledge in at least one Science discipline
  • Is committed to helping students achieve their full potential
  • Can manage a classroom effectively and build positive relationships
  • Works well within a team and demonstrates a proactive approach
