Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Full-Time Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the Shaftesbury area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, recent graduate or someone looking to begin a career in education. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to provide academic, pastoral and classroom support to pupils.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.

• Help pupils access learning and develop their confidence and independence.

• Reinforce learning through targeted activities and interventions.

• Support pupils with additional learning needs and SEND where appropriate.

• Assist with classroom preparation and organisation.

• Help create a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment.

• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement.

• Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.

• Build positive relationships with pupils and school staff.

• Monitor pupil progress and communicate relevant observations to teaching staff.

• Assist with school activities, trips and wider educational opportunities where required.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting.

• Is passionate about supporting pupils to succeed.

• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Is patient, approachable and understanding.

• Can build positive relationships with children.

• Has strong organisational skills.

• Is confident supporting individuals and small groups.

• Can adapt their approach to meet different learning needs.

• Has a proactive and positive attitude.

• Is reliable, flexible and committed.

• Understands the importance of safeguarding and child protection.

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
