Secondary Science Teacher (Science Specialist) – Specialist Setting
Are you a passionate and resilient Science specialist looking to make a genuine difference in young people’s lives?
We are seeking a committed and adaptable Secondary Science Teacher (Science specialist) to join our specialist provision, supporting students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for a practitioner who combines strong subject expertise with a relational and trauma-informed approach to teaching.
About the role
You will deliver high-quality, engaging science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, using your subject specialism to inspire curiosity while adapting learning to meet a wide range of needs. Many of our students have experienced disrupted education, trauma, or challenges with behaviour, so the ability to create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment is essential.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a Science specialist with experience teaching Science up to GCSE Level (QTS is essential)
- Has strong subject knowledge across the science curriculum (Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics)
- Has a solid understanding of SEMH needs, behaviour support, and trauma-informed practice
- Can build positive, trusting relationships with students who may be disengaged from education
- Is calm, resilient, and able to respond effectively to challenging situations
- Is committed to inclusive practice and raising aspirations for all learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
