Job description

Teacher of Science

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and committed Teacher of Science to join our successful Science department. This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational teacher to engage students with the wonders of science, develop their curiosity about the natural world, and equip them with the knowledge and skills to thrive in an ever-changing society.

Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about delivering high-quality science education and inspiring young people to achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner, capable of delivering engaging and challenging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. There may also be the opportunity to teach at Key Stage 5 for a suitably qualified candidate. You will plan and deliver a broad, ambitious and inclusive curriculum that enables all students to make excellent progress, while fostering curiosity, resilience and a love of scientific enquiry. You will use assessment effectively to inform teaching, maintain high expectations of both achievement and behaviour, and contribute positively to the continued success of the Science department and the wider school community.

We are looking for a teacher who holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or is due to achieve it, and has strong subject knowledge in Science, with the ability to teach across the curriculum. Whether your specialism is Biology, Chemistry or Physics, you will be committed to delivering engaging lessons that challenge and support all learners. You will be an effective communicator, enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues, and be committed to your own professional development. Above all, you will share our ambition to inspire every student to develop confidence, curiosity and a lifelong interest in science.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
