Job description

We are working with a number of forward-thinking secondary schools across Oldham who are looking to appoint passionate and committed Science Teachers on both a full-time and part-time basis, to start either immediately or from the next academic term. These positions present a fantastic opportunity for both experienced teachers and ECTs who are looking to join supportive departments with a strong focus on academic achievement, practical learning, and pupil engagement across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach at Key Stage 5 in some settings.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum, ensuring a high standard of teaching and learning is maintained at all times. You will plan and deliver lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics (with the option to specialise depending on your expertise), assess student progress effectively, and contribute positively to departmental planning and wider school life. Schools we work with value teachers who can inspire curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and create an inclusive classroom environment where all students can thrive.

You will ideally hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be working towards it, although strong unqualified teachers with relevant UK classroom experience will also be considered. Recent experience teaching Science at secondary level is essential, alongside excellent classroom management skills and a genuine enthusiasm for the subject. Schools are particularly keen to meet teachers who are adaptable, proactive, and confident in delivering differentiated lessons to meet a range of learning needs.

In return, these roles offer competitive daily and annual rates of pay in line with experience, access to well-resourced Science departments, and supportive leadership teams committed to staff development.

Whether you are seeking a long-term role, a permanent position, or flexible part-time work to fit around other commitments, there are a variety of opportunities available to suit your preferences. Many of our partner schools also offer pathways into permanent employment following successful placements.

If you are a dedicated Science Teacher looking for your next opportunity, we would welcome the chance to speak with you. Apply today by sending over an up-to-date CV
