Job description
Science Teacher – Secondary School – Oldham
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Oldham. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, and committed to inspiring students to develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
We are recruiting for roles starting in September or for immediate start. Further details will be provided upon successful progression to the next stage of the application process.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective Science lessons tailored to a range of abilities.

Design lesson plans aligned with the national curriculum.

Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely, constructive feedback and support.

Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity and academic achievement.

Employ innovative teaching strategies to boost student engagement and learning outcomes.

Participate in departmental meetings, professional training sessions, and wider school activities.
Requirements

A degree in Science, Education, or a related subject.

A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).

Previous experience teaching Science at the secondary level is preferred.

Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

A commitment to ongoing professional development and a genuine passion for education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
