Pay - £162.31pd - £251.71pd (MPS/UPS)
Location - NN2
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join our dynamic and forward-thinking science faculty. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive and ambitious team committed to delivering exceptional teaching and learning.
About the Role:
As a Science Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stages, ensuring all students make excellent progress. You will be expected to plan, teach, assess, and reflect on your practice while maintaining consistently high standards in classroom behaviour and academic expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Learning

Plan and deliver well-structured lessons that meet the needs of all learners.

Maintain high standards of teaching and learning across all classes.

Use data effectively to monitor, assess, and report on student progress.

Integrate ICT and key skills into lesson planning.
-
Continuously update subject knowledge and pedagogy.
Departmental Contributions
-
Participate in subject planning and contribute to the development of schemes of work.
-
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and set department targets.
-
Support coursework moderation and uphold high expectations of student work.
-
Contribute to the Faculty and wider School Development Plans.
Pastoral Responsibilities
-
Support students' wider development through regular pastoral care.
-
Mentor students and liaise with year group teams on matters affecting progress or well-being.

Build positive relationships with parents/carers regarding attendance, achievement, and behaviour.
Health and Safety
-
Ensure a safe and stimulating learning environment for all students.
-
Follow the school’s health and safety policies and report any concerns promptly.
Professional Conduct and Development
-
Demonstrate professionalism and punctuality in all aspects of the role.

Embrace equal opportunities and foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture.

Engage in ongoing professional development and appraisal processes.

General

Undertake any additional reasonable duties in support of the school’s wider aims and responsibilities, as directed by senior leadership.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
