Science Teacher
Location: Newport, South Wales
Pay Rate: From £172.98 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Starting September 2026 until end of academic year

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Science Teacher to join one of our trusted secondary schools in the Newport area.

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school. This is an exciting opportunity to teach engaging and dynamic Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 depending on your specialism and experience.

The school prides itself on creating a positive learning environment with a strong focus on student achievement, staff wellbeing, and professional development. This role would suit both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECT/NQT) looking to further develop their skills within a supportive department.

What We’re Looking for?

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Have experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Are committed to supporting student wellbeing and academic success
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or are completing teacher training

Requirements

Teaching Personnel can provide guidance to help you obtain:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) where applicable
  • Two recent professional references covering the last 24 months
  • Level 2 Safeguarding training
