Teacher of General Science (Full Time)
Clitheroe, Lancashire
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Temporary (until December 2026, with potential for extension)
A welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Clitheroe, Lancashire is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of General Science to join their successful Science department from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher to contribute to a supportive and forward-thinking school environment, delivering high-quality science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
The Role
- Deliver engaging and well-structured General Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Support students of all abilities to achieve their full potential
- Contribute to the wider Science department and school community
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold QTS (or equivalent recognised teaching qualification)
- Have experience teaching Science at secondary level (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics specialism welcome)
- Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills
- Be committed to raising attainment and supporting student progress
- Be adaptable, motivated, and able to work effectively as part of a team
This position is initially offered on a temporary basis until December 2026, with the potential for extension depending on school needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
