Job description

We are working closely with a well-regarded secondary school in Harrow who are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inspiring curiosity, confidence, and achievement in Science.

The Role:
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and well-structured Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach KS5 depending on experience and specialism (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics). You will be supported by a collaborative department and strong leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons aligned with the national curriculum

  • Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable, not essential)

  • Differentiate effectively to support learners of all abilities

  • Assess, track, and monitor pupil progress, providing constructive feedback

  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment

  • Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives

  • Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and behaviour policies

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics

  • Experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Passionate, resilient, and committed to pupil progress

  • ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
