Science Teacher – Secondary School – Bruton
Full-Time | Permanent | Starting September
A vibrant and progressive secondary school in Bruton, Somerset is seeking an enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their successful Science department. The Role
In this position, you will:
- Deliver engaging, well‑planned Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Promote strong student progress through high‑quality teaching and effective curriculum delivery
- Use assessment strategies to inform planning and support learning
- Create an inclusive and inspiring classroom environment where all students can thrive
- Contribute to curriculum development and ongoing departmental innovation
- Take part in broader school life, including clubs, activities, and enrichment opportunities

Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will be:
- A qualified Science Teacher with QTS, or an ECT completing their training
- Confident teaching Science across KS3 and KS4 (all specialisms welcome)
- Passionate about delivering engaging and purposeful lessons
- Reflective, dedicated, and keen to grow professionally
- Able to build positive relationships and inspire learners of all abilities
Requirements
- QTS (or working towards QTS)
- Strong subject knowledge in Science
- Ability to teach confidently at KS3 and KS4
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
