Science Teacher – Secondary School – Bruton
Full-Time | Permanent | Starting September

A vibrant and progressive secondary school in Bruton, Somerset is seeking an enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their successful Science department. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher or a motivated ECT ready to begin their career in a school that values curiosity, high achievement, and continuous development.

The Role

In this position, you will:

  • Deliver engaging, well‑planned Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Promote strong student progress through high‑quality teaching and effective curriculum delivery
  • Use assessment strategies to inform planning and support learning
  • Create an inclusive and inspiring classroom environment where all students can thrive
  • Contribute to curriculum development and ongoing departmental innovation
  • Take part in broader school life, including clubs, activities, and enrichment opportunities

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will be:

  • A qualified Science Teacher with QTS, or an ECT completing their training
  • Confident teaching Science across KS3 and KS4 (all specialisms welcome)
  • Passionate about delivering engaging and purposeful lessons
  • Reflective, dedicated, and keen to grow professionally
  • Able to build positive relationships and inspire learners of all abilities

Requirements

  • QTS (or working towards QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science
  • Ability to teach confidently at KS3 and KS4
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare

This is an outstanding opportunity for a Science Teacher seeking to develop their career within a welcoming, successful, and supportive secondary school environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
