Contract: Full-Time

Salary: £31,650 – £51,048 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)

The Role

As a Science Teacher, you will:

- Deliver engaging and high-quality Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 depending on your specialism and experience.

- Plan and deliver creative lessons that inspire students and encourage a deeper understanding of scientific concepts.

- Teach across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at Key Stage 3, with the opportunity to specialise in your subject area at Key Stage 4 and beyond.

- Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment where students feel motivated to achieve their full potential.

- Use a variety of teaching methods and practical investigations to develop students' scientific knowledge and enquiry skills.

- Monitor, assess, and track student progress, providing effective feedback to support achievement and development.

- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students, including those with additional learning needs.

- Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management to promote a positive learning atmosphere.

- Support students in preparing for GCSE examinations and achieving strong academic outcomes.

- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives aimed at raising attainment and engagement.

- Participate in extracurricular activities, including STEM clubs, science fairs, educational visits, and enrichment opportunities.

What We Are Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

- A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, or equivalent).

- Experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting.

- Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or General Science.

- A passion for science education and the ability to inspire curiosity and enthusiasm in young people.

- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- The ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and carers.

- A commitment to inclusive education and supporting students of all abilities.

- A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching and learning.

- An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
