Immediate Start – Day-to-Day Work with Potential for Full-Time Role Until the End of the Academic Year
We are seeking a fully qualified and experienced Science Teacher to join a secondary school in Bath as soon as possible. This opportunity can begin as flexible day-to-day work, with the potential to transition into a full-time position continuing until the end of the academic year.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and dedicated educator to join a supportive Science department and make a meaningful impact on students’ progress and achievement.
About the Role
This is a full teaching role, including planning and marking responsibilities once in a full-time post. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and well-structured Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience is desirable but not essential).
You will be responsible for creating an inspiring and inclusive learning environment, fostering curiosity and scientific understanding, while maintaining high expectations for behaviour and academic success. Strong classroom management skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons in line with the national curriculum

Prepare schemes of work and engaging lesson resources

Mark and assess student work, providing clear and constructive feedback

Track and monitor student progress
-
Differentiate lessons to support a range of abilities
-
Maintain excellent classroom behaviour and routines
-
Contribute to departmental planning and wider school activities
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
-
Experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting
-
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
-
Experience with planning and marking responsibilities
-
Excellent communication and organisational abilities
-
A commitment to raising standards and inspiring students
